FORMER prime minister Sitiveni Rabuka says the FijiFirst Government’s behaviour in deporting University of the South Pacific vice-chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia and his wife Sandra Price was nothing short of “childish”.

“Trying to push out the vice-chancellor displays the temperament of a spoilt kid who throws temper tantrums when not granted his wish by the seniors,” Mr Rabuka said in a Facebook post.

“The behaviour of the Bainimarama Government over the last year with regard to USP displays an un-Pacific-like arrogance which can come only from people who do not value good corporate governance principles and Pacific cultures and traditions,” he said.

Prof Ahluwalia and Ms Price were allegedly taken from their home early yesterday and transported to Nadi International Airport where they were boarded on a flight to Brisbane, Australia.

Prof Ahluwalia and Ms Price are Australian citizens.
