Bring the brains together to effectively combat COVID-19.

That was the call from Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre co-ordinator Shamima Ali to Government.

She said the fight against COVID-19 needed a bipartisanship approach.

Ms Ali said Government needed to rope in civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations and the Opposition to assist them in the fight.

“You need to bring all the brains together, everyone who is an expert in their field who can come in and help,” she said.

“The Ministry of Health is doing so much, they are doing the best that they can. But what about food, what about the economy and what about all the other things.”

Ms Ali said Government needed to make use of retired doctors.

“Also the other sides of the House are also leaders elected by the people, they know the people also. When we get together we are better able to react and to respond.”
