While positive cases are being reported from quarantine facilities each day, the Nadroga-Navosa Provincial Council is pleading with several Coral Coast communities to assist in the relocation of quarantined individuals to Blue West Villas.

Council administrator Rusiate Radaveta said those being moved to the villas near Maui Bay were not positive cases.

“The problem is they do not understand what a quarantine facility is and what an isolation facility is,” he said.

“These are two different facilities.

“The isolation facility is where positive cases are being kept while a quarantine facility is where primary contacts are being kept.

“Blue West Villas is a quarantine facility.”

In response, Tui Vusu Ratu Siriako Naciwai said in the recent past, positive cases had arisen from people who were in quarantine.

“Our people work there,” he said.

“Everyone is saying the virus moves when we move.

“They are moving it here.”

Ministry of Health and Medical Services permanent secretary Dr James Fong reiterated that most cases stemmed from existing clusters where people had been in isolation.

He said the ministry expected the daily numbers to increase.
