Reshma Singh, 44, and her husband Divendra Goundar, 44, from Muslim League settlement in Nabua left their two-year-old child at home in the care of their aunt last Thursday to hunt for seafood for their family.

The couple were trying their best to catch whatever they could before the 24-hour lockdown period began at 11pm on Friday.

Ms Singh said she was worried about how she would be able to manage during this lockdown.

“The Government has provided us with $90,” said Ms Singh.

“That is not enough.

“I have three children and the youngest one is just two-year four months old.

“We cannot depend on the $90 given to us by the Government.

“We are trying our best to provide whatever we can for our family.”

Ms Singh said her husband was jobless and they are struggling to meet their basic needs.

“My youngest child is just two-year four months old.

“We need milk and diapers for him as well.

“I am just worried how we’ll meet our daily needs in this lockdown.”
