Police officers were at the Lautoka mini van stand this morning to ensure drivers adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions and carry the maximum 50 per cent passenger capacity.

A number of van operators said they had been running at a loss as a result of this.

Operator  Pramesh Prasad says it has been really stressful having to deal with such a situation because they are not making any profit at all from these runs.

He says more than 80 per cent mini vans are parked at the stand and have united to have their voice heard as their business has been really affected when restrictions had to be enforced a few weeks ago.
