Support pours in for Fiji 7s team

Support has been pouring in for our national 7s team as they prepare to defend their gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Former students of Queen Victoria and Ratu Kadavulevu School living in the US held a fundraising drive for our boys.
Speaking on behalf of the former students Petaia Usakilakeba said the fundraising was organised by the Pacific Northwest QVSOB in association with Lal’s kava and the RKSOB here in Seattle.
“We have a mixture of attendees from all races among our Fijian community, in Seattle, Washington,” he said.
“Our organistion believes that this good cause is long overdue and by doing this, we will bring every Fijian together and do what is right and needs to be done.
“Fiji Rugby Union has done their part but the big question is “what have we done.
“We believe that this is our duty after our boys carry our name in the games when they got the gold in Rio.
“We need to support them and show them that we care and love them fighting for our nation.
“That’s the real motivation of doing this collective drive in our community.”
Usakilakeba added that the support from the Fijian community in Seattle has been overwhelming.
“Fiji is a multi-racial country and to see all Fijians come to together for one reason, it is a blessing.
“Speaking on the support of the community, our event was all through donations.
The meat was given by Alwyn Lal from Lal’s kava and Abdul Karim from JD’s market.
