The Yasawa Women’s Rugby Club has launched its new range of merchandise in partnership with leading sporting apparel manufacturer, Beyond Limits Known (BLK) spotting the new Rosi ni Yasawa logo.
The new range includes replica jerseys, bula shirts, sulu and even face masks.
Laisa Satala, who is the Yasawa Rugby Union vice-president for women’s rugby, said the launch was held last weekend. Satala said the apparel was uniquely designed by BLK. She said they were venturing into new avenues to market the team and earn some revenue that would be used in their preparations for the 2022 season.
Satala said it would help in their development program to unearth more talents such as 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medallist Laisani Likuceva, who came from Nacula Island in the Yasawa Group.
“The Skipper Cup competition has been shelved this year so all the preparation will turn to the 2022 season,” she said.
“It is likely that the pre-season training will start next month, however it will depend on the availability of the ground. The players have been advised to continue their individual training.”
Two other Olympic bronze medallists, Vasiti Solikoviti and Reijeli Daveua have linmks in Yasawa.
Yasawa was placed fifth on the Skipper Cup points table and missed out on a semi-final berth last year.
